Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a time between time zones?

Pick the date and time, choose the zone it is in, and read the matching time in each other zone. The tool uses your browser’s built-in time zone data, so daylight saving is applied for the date you choose.

Does it handle daylight saving time?

Yes. Offsets are looked up for the exact date, so a conversion in July can differ from the same one in January for zones that observe DST.

What is UTC?

Coordinated Universal Time is the world’s time standard. Every other zone is described as an offset from it, such as UTC+5:30 or UTC-5.

Why does the date sometimes change?

When zones are far apart, the same moment can fall on different calendar days. The result shows the weekday and date for each zone.

Where does the time zone data come from?

From your browser, which uses the IANA time zone database. A very old browser may offer a shorter list of zones.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded or stored by Nexatoolbox.
