How to use the Online Countdown Timer
- Enter hours, minutes and seconds, or tap a preset such as 5 min or 25 min.
- Click Start. The timer counts down and also shows the time in the browser tab title.
- Click Pause to hold it and Resume to continue, or Reset to start over.
- When it reaches zero, a short alert sound plays if the sound option is on.

How do I set a timer online?
Enter the time you want, or pick a preset, then click Start. No sign-up or download is needed.
Will the timer work if I switch to another tab?
Yes. It calculates the time left from the clock, so it stays accurate in the background. Some browsers delay the alert sound in a background tab, so keep the tab audible if timing is critical.
Why did I not hear the alarm?
Browsers can block sound until you have interacted with the page. Clicking Start counts as interaction, but check that your device volume is up and the tab is not muted.
Can I use it for studying or cooking?
Yes. A 25-minute preset suits focus sessions in the Pomodoro style, and shorter presets suit cooking and breaks.
What happens if I close the page?
The timer stops. It is not saved, so keep the tab open until it finishes.
