What counts as a task, operation, or execution?
Each vendor meters usage differently. Zapier counts a task as one action in a Zap. Make counts an operation as one module step in a scenario. n8n counts a workflow execution as one full run of a workflow, regardless of how many nodes it contains. They are not directly equivalent one-to-one.
Is n8n really free?
n8n’s self-hosted Community Edition has no execution cap and no license fee, you only pay for the server it runs on. n8n Cloud is a separate paid, hosted option with its own tiers shown above.
